Morgan is one of those special people who completely excel at his job. He is a public address announcer, but is responsible for in-game entertainment at The Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. He is most notably credited as being the inventor of the dot race. Back in 1986, sportswriter Jim Reeves told Morgan about a scoreboard race featuring blinking lights that reminded him of a similar race he had done when he worked for the Nashville Sounds. Morgan was inspired to create "The Dot Race," which became a fixture at Arlington Stadium and Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The race has inspired many other races that would take place in other stadiums on their video boards. I honestly long for the day when "The Dot Race" returns to the video board.
