A retired minister in Gilford, New Hampshire is one of 30 finalists to become the next Red Sox PA announcer.
The Rev. William Morley, 82, grew up in Boston and recalls shining shoes outside Fenway Park in the 1940s.
The Air Force veteran worked as a minister in Maine and retired to Gilford’s Wesley Woods community. Last year, he heard the Red Sox were holding auditions at Fenway and went to try out.

“I took the test – kind of a hilarious time, you know, in that it was kind of rewarding and romantic,” he said.
