The voice of the Fargodome speaks

FARGO – He's a familiar voice to anyone who has attended a Bison football game.

Dan Michaels, a Fargo resident, has been the public address announcer at North Dakota State University football home games for 17 years. He is also the PA announcer at Fargo Davies High School.     

Michaels is responsible for quickly conveying information from the field to the fans over the loudspeakers. He has help from a team of NDSU statistics takers in the box who relay information about yardage or who made a certain play.

How did you get started in this field?

I've been in broadcasting for a long, long time, but I got into PA announcing when I was in college at Valley City (N.D.) State back in the '80s.    read more
