When Jeff Smith begins reeling off all of his public address jobs, it’s hard to imagine that the “Golden-Throated Voice of the Elks” was once a struggling 21-year-old searching for his path in life.Smith, who just turned 50, began his seventh season announcing Burleson football Friday night. He welcomed the Elks to the field for their game with Azle from the friendly confines of the "Dennis Key Press Box" located in Burleson Stadium.
It’s a fry cry from the days when Smith had no idea what he was going to do with his life.
