Alabama prep PA announcer: "If you don't stand for anthem, you should be shot"

A Southern Baptist Pastor who moonlights as a high school football announcer in Alabama raised eyebrows with an unscripted preamble in support of military personnel … and against anyone who doesn’t want to pay what he deems as proper homage to the flag.

As reported by, the McKenzie High announcer Pastor Allen Joyner offered up a strong rebuke of any who have refused to stand for the national anthem, as originally posted by Denise Crowley-Whitfield on Facebook Friday night. Here’s what Joyner reportedly said:

“If you don’t want to stand for the national anthem, you can line up over there by the fence and let our military personnel take a few shots at you since they’re taking shots for you.”
