For 19 years he’s been the primary courtside announcer during the Class 2A basketball tournament at the Pendleton Convention Center. Just before the first game Wednesday, someone slips him a note. It’s the kind he sees every year. “You always have a mother tell you how to pronounce her kid’s name,” Bill Elfering said.
