Of all the long-suffering fans of professional baseball teams in the Washington area, few have suffered as long, or as deeply, as Charlie Brotman.
As many longtime Washingtonians know, Charlie was the public address announcer at Griffiths Stadium for 16 years, from 1956-1971, during which time the Senators lost a lot more games than they won. And that's why the Nationals' success has been such a thrill for Charlie.
"It's bringing the city closer together, it's really exciting," Charlie said.
