Chuck Morgan PA Voice of the Texas Rangers - End of the Wave?

Morgan is one of those special people who completely excel at his job. He is a public address announcer, but is responsible for in-game entertainment at The Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. He is most notably credited as being the inventor of the dot race. Back in 1986, sportswriter Jim Reeves told Morgan about a scoreboard race featuring blinking lights that reminded him of a similar race he had done when he worked for the Nashville Sounds. Morgan was inspired to create "The Dot Race," which became a fixture at Arlington Stadium and Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The race has inspired many other races that would take place in other stadiums on their video boards. I honestly long for the day when "The Dot Race" returns to the video board.

Every year, Morgan has new ideas he brings to the ballpark and specifically to the video board. Recently, Morgan has taken attack on the fan favorite known as the wave. read the full story by John Bowman on Yahoo!
