New Hampshire Fisher Cats PA announcer hopes for shot at big leagues

PA announcer seeks to become voice of Fenway Park

MANCHESTER, N.H. -
A longtime member of the Fisher Cats organization is hoping for a call-up to the majors, but he's not a player.

Alex James has been the public address announcer at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium for five seasons, but he's now looking for a Major League call-up to Fenway Park.
"To work at a legendary park like Fenway Park -- that's definitely one of the top jobs, if not the top baseball-announcing job in the country, and to have an opportunity to try out for that would be amazing," James said.
Last year, James was on the short list to become the public address announcer for the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, but this time, he's taking to Twitter for a chance at the Red Sox gig.
"So we put together a hash tag, #Alex4SoxPA, between some friends and myself, and we are just trying to rally support to tweet @redsox," James said.
As for his current employer, there doesn't seem to be any problem with James going public to chase his dream.
