Brett Zerfowski of Decatur, IL is the public address announcer for the Peoria Chiefs.

PEORIA — Unlike most young men who aspire to reach the major leagues, Brett Zerfowski has made it to the minors, the main road to the bigs.
Zerfowski, 31, was hired this year as the public address announcer for the Peoria Chiefs, Class A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
He is hoping the job will lead to a booth in a major league ballpark.
“I would love to do radio or TV play-by-play, it doesn’t matter which team,” said Zerfowski, a tall, red-haired, wise-cracking Decatur native. “I’ve grown up as a Cubs fan, so I know so much about them I could do that, but I would not turn down an offer from any major league team.”
