Muskegon Lumberjacks Holding Tryouts For PA Announcer, National Anthem Singers Friday

Muskegon, Mich. – The Muskegon Lumberjacks will be conducting tryouts for a public-address announcer and national anthem singers for the 2011-12 United States Hockey League season.

Auditions will take place at the L.C. Walker Arena from 4-6 p.m. on Friday. There are no age restrictions. Those who can’t make the audition may schedule a separate appointment by calling Jacks Creative Services Director Brian Haberkorn at 724-5225, Ext. 288, or emailing him at bhaberkorn@muskegonlumberjacks.com.

The Jacks recently revealed their 25-man active roster and 14-man affiliate list and are preparing for their sophomore campaign in the premier junior league in the nation. Jacks Head Coach and General Manager Kevin Patrick is quick to acknowledge the impact of the unique atmosphere at the L.C. Walker Arena.

“There aren’t a lot of atmospheres like the one we have here in Muskegon, and we’ve had a lot of excellent singers,” Patrick said. “There’s no doubt our players feed off of it.”
