Update: Missoula Osprey hold tryouts for PA, on-field MC

A sales rep from Missoula, a stay-at-home mom from Florence and a recent graduate of Big Sky High School all walk into a baseball stadium ...
And take a seat at the mic.
What, haven’t heard this one before?
Then you weren’t at the Osprey’s tryout session Friday evening at Ogren-Allegiance Park. Missoula’s minor league baseball team was auditioning folks from all walks of life for the positions of public address announcer and on-field promotions emcee.
And if you think this was a joke, you’re wrong.  Osprey officials said they would narrow down the auditions to a group of finalists and bring them back for a face-to-face interview before deciding on whom to hire. The team is looking to hire two or three new voices. Regular PA announcer Dan Stromme is studying abroad in Spain and will miss the first two homestands of the season.
The Osprey open their season June 18 and play their first home game on June 22.
