UH basketball to hold PA announcer, national anthem tryouts

The University of Houston Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs will hold tryouts for public address announcers and national anthem singers inside Hofheinz Pavilion later this month.

Singers will be asked to perform a rendition of the national anthem, while public address announcers should be prepared to read from a prepared marketing script and introduce starting lineups for judges.

Interested participants should email their reservations to Director of Basketball Marketing and Promotions Darron Pinkney at djpinkney@uh.edu by 5 p.m., Oct. 12. After submitting RSVPs, participants will be emailed tryout date, location and arrival time.

In 2014-15, the Men’s Basketball program will play host to 17 regular-season home games and an exhibition contest, while the Women’s program will compete 13 times in front of the hometown fans inside Hofheinz Pavilion.
