Longtime staidum public address announcer John Davies resigns

A new era starts at PNC Field tonight, when the reconstructed ballpark hosts its first game since Labor Day 2011.
With that new era, though, the stadium will lose its familiar voice.
Longtime public address announcer John Davies said Wednesday that he has resigned the post he held since Lackawanna County Stadium officially opened in 1989.

Dean Corwin, an area radio personality perhaps best known as the radio play-by-play announcer for University of Scranton basketball, is the interim public address announcer and will be behind the microphone tonight when the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders debut against Pawtucket, team president and general manager Rob Crain said.
At some point, Crain said, a tryout will be held to find the next full-time voice of PNC Field, but he added that the job is Corwin's for "the foreseeable future."   read story here
